  • Liverpool cannot earn Diaz’s desired fee
  • Alexander Isaac remains a priority for the Reds

The ambitious pursuit of Liverpool’s Newcastle United striker Alexander Isaac faces serious obstacles, threatening that financial complications will derail a deal worth as much as £150 million.

The Reds are under pressure to raise large amounts of funds during their transfer period, but the key elements of their plans to offload Louis Diaz to Bayern Munich have proven more complicated than expected.

The Columbian winger is assigned to be one of the players who will give way to Isaac along with Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott. Liverpool hopes to secure around £80 million on Díaz alone.

Liverpool cannot earn Diaz’s desired fee

However, according to Foot Mercart, Bayern Munich’s offer is now just £65 million, far below the Reds’ rating, and Germany doesn’t seem to have rushed to raise their bids.

Worse, the public withdrawal from the Barcelona race weakened Liverpool’s negotiating position.

Instead, the Catalan club’s decision to move to Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford followed President Joan Laporta’s confirmation that he had no further income after missing out on Nico Williams.

The revelation left Bayern as Diaz’s only serious suitor, taking advantage of negotiations on them and removing the fear of being outbid.

Despite already signing Hugo Ekitique for £79 million, Liverpool’s interest in Isaac remains strong.

But Magpies play hardball, especially as strikers demand wages of £300,000 a week. Liverpool is proof that they will be willing to pay after giving new signature Florian Wirtz a similar package.

With no formal offers yet to be filed with Newcastle, insiders suggest that Liverpool is working behind the scenes to prepare their moves. However, unless Bayern meets Diaz’s asking price or another large-scale sale goes on, Liverpool’s financial muscles could be short.
