At one stage this summer, it certainly looked like Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs White would sign Tottenham.

However, the British is currently signing a new contract in Forest and he is set to stay at the club.

This summer, Spurs, looking for midfield creativity under the leadership of Thomas Frank’s manager, was forced to consider alternatives to the market.

One name linked to the transition to Europa League winner this summer is West Ham United star Luca Spaqueta, as reported by TBR Football.

West Ham United appears to be about to say goodbye to Brazilian midfielder Paketa this summer, but not at the price they once expected.

Lucas Paqueta is available for bargain movements

According to The Daily Mail, Hammer is currently preparing to significantly reduce the 27-year-old’s relocation fees, just two years after rejecting a lucrative offer that is thought to be worth around £80 million.

The East London side was on the verge of a major payday in 2023, when Manchester City expressed serious interest in signing Paketa. At the time, the attacking midfielder enjoyed a powerful form of running, and a transfer seemed almost inevitable.

However, the move was dramatically placed on ice due to the Football Association’s investigation into alleged betting violations involving players, particularly spot amendments accusations that have halted progress in any trade.

Since then, West Ham’s attitude towards players has evolved. While Paketa remains an important part of the team, the prolonged uncertainty around the investigation clouded his prospects for a move and influenced the club’s ability to capitalize on the peak market value.

The cloud is now beginning to be lifted as sources show the course that Paketa will remove all fraud and suggests it will pave the way for a fresh start.

Hammer is ready to leave the club this summer for just £30 million, and Tottenham may consider a creative midfielder move, according to the Daily Mail.

With Graham Potter currently overseeing squad rebuilding in East London, West Ham is reportedly willing to entertain offers well below the two summer numbers.

The club is said to prioritize economic flexibility as they are trying to rebuild the midfield and strengthen other key areas of the pitch.
