Welcome to this installment of The Hockey News’ Vancouver Canucks 2024-25 Report Card, a series that thoroughly evaluates each Canucks player’s performance from the past season. Today, we focus on winger Arshdeep Bains, who ended the season with one point over 13 NHL games.

Throughout the 2024-25 season, Bains was called up multiple times and netted his first NHL goal on October 26 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. While he showed some strong moments at the NHL level, the bulk of his success came in the AHL.

Bains was a standout during the 2025 Calder Cup final, posting 10 points in six games and finishing the playoffs with a total of 24 points in 24 games. He proved his clutch ability by delivering multipoint games in the last two matches of the final.

During his NHL appearances, Bains averaged 10 minutes and 30 seconds of ice time, primarily playing on the fourth line. In those 13 games, he took eight shots and registered 17 hits. He also saw some power-play time, averaging just under ten minutes with the man advantage.

After the season concluded, Bains signed a two-year contract extension with Vancouver, featuring a two-way deal for the first year and a one-way deal for the second. He is competing for a spot in the bottom six forwards and will likely be among the first called up or sent down in case of roster changes due to injury or trades.

Ultimately, Bains wrapped up his third season within the Canucks organization, playing 13 NHL games and leading Abbotsford to the AHL championship. For his performance, he earned a B+ grade for the 2024-25 campaign.
