Bubba Wallace has climbed into the power rankings following a significant win at Indianapolis. His team owner remains ranked due to a third-place finish. However, Wallace’s teammate, Tyler Reddick, has dropped out after another poor performance, finishing 29th at Indy, with only four top-10 finishes in his last 14 races. With four races left in the regular season, the focus shifts to the upcoming race at Iowa Speedway and the current standings of the drivers.

Tyler Reddick, who was previously ranked 9th, falls out, while a few new names like Chris Buescher and Kyle Busch remain in the mix.

Here are the updated rankings:

10. Bubba Wallace (previously unranked) – His victory at a major race propelled him onto the list. He has four top-10 finishes in his last nine races, including several top-5 placements.

9. Ryan Preece (previously unranked) – Yet to secure a Cup Series win, Preece placed fourth at the Brickyard, contributing to RFK Racing’s six top-10 finishes in the last 11 races.

8. William Byron (down from 5th) – Despite running in the top five for most of the Brickyard 400, Byron finished 16th due to a fuel issue. He trails teammate Chase Elliott by just four points in the standings.

7. Alex Bowman (steady at 7th) – Bowman secured his 12th top-10 finish of the season with a ninth-place at Brickyard, second only to Kyle Larson among Hendrick Motorsports’ drivers.

6. Christopher Bell (steady at 6th) – With 12 top-10s and three wins this year, Bell finished eighth at Brickyard. However, he seems to be pushing the limits too hard at times.

5. Chase Briscoe (down from 3rd) – Briscoe earned pole position at Indy and led 34 laps but ended up finishing 18th. Despite this, his speed keeps him solidly in the top 10.

4. Chase Elliott (down from 2nd) – Elliott finished 13th at Brickyard but holds a narrow four-point lead over Byron in the Cup standings. He acknowledges he needs consistently strong qualifying performances to maintain his standing.

3. Ryan Blaney (up from 8th) – Though not the fastest at Brickyard, Blaney achieved a skillful finish as the only Penske driver in the top 10.

2. Kyle Larson (down from 4th) – Larson secured a second-place finish at Brickyard, marking his second consecutive top-five and the 11th top-five of his season.

1. Denny Hamlin (maintains 1st) – Following a recent win at Dover, Hamlin finished third at Brickyard despite crashing in qualifying and starting at the back with a backup car. He also recently extended his contract with Joe Gibbs Racing for two more years, signaling stability and strong on-track performance.

Fan Take: Bubba Wallace’s recent surge injects fresh energy into the competition, showing that newer talent can still shake up the established order. As the playoffs approach, these shifting dynamics suggest an exciting finish to the NASCAR season that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.
