2025 TBT Semi-Finals Recap: Aftershocks Clash with Eveline Drive for the Championship Spot

The basketball tournament has now narrowed down to the last two teams, with the $1 million grand prize within reach! Eveline Drive triumphed over the West Virginia State alumni team and Best Virginia in the first semifinal match. Meanwhile, the Wichita State alumni team, Aftershock, secured their spot in the final by defeating We’re D3.

In Thursday’s action, Aftershock edged out We’re D3 with a 66-54 win. Both teams were evenly matched early on, but Aftershock took control in the second quarter, scoring 21 points while holding We’re D3 to just five. By halftime, Aftershock led comfortably at 35-17. Although We’re D3 narrowed the gap in the third quarter to 47-38, Aftershock’s depth and star power ultimately proved too much. James Woodard led Aftershock with 12 points off the bench, while Ty Nichols scored 14 points for We’re D3.

In the other semifinal, Eveline Drive defeated Best Virginia 85-77. The game was closely contested from the start, with Eveline Drive leading slightly 21-18 after the first quarter. West Virginia’s team lit up in the second quarter, but Eveline Drive held a narrow 40-37 lead at halftime. Both Terry Taylor (Eveline Drive) and Toby Okani (Best Virginia) scored 10 points each in the first half. Eveline Drive pulled ahead again in the third quarter, leading 64-61 going into the final quarter. The game was decided by the Elam Ending, where the clock stops and teams aim for a target score. With the game tight at 77-75, Gabe York hit a clutch three-pointer to push Eveline Drive to the winning target of 85 points. York finished as the top scorer with 25 points.
