Corey Heim to Drive for 23XI Racing in Upcoming NASCAR Cup Race at Richmond

Corey Heim, aged 23, is recognized as one of the leading young talents in NASCAR’s lower-tier divisions. He is currently at the top of the NASCAR Track Series Championship standings, having won five of his initial 16 races, with 10 top-five finishes and 12 top-ten finishes. Heim secured a spot in the Championship 4 both in 2023 and 2024, amassing a total of 16 victories in the third-tier series.

Heim became the first official development driver for 23XI Racing, signing a multi-year contract and making several starts in the Cup Series with the team. Notably, he finished third at Richmond Raceway in just his sixth career Cup start and also finished third in the 2025 season late in August, which led to additional races being added to his schedule.

Continuing his partnership with 23XI, Heim will once again drive the No. 67 Toyota, sponsored by the online trading platform Robinhood. His best Cup Series result so far was a 13th place finish at Kansas earlier this year, where he outperformed all his 23XI teammates.

Regrettably, Heim was unable to compete in the Chicago Street Course race due to damage sustained in qualifying. Richmond marks his return to Cup racing after failing to qualify for the Chicago event. While Heim is familiar with Richmond from previous experience, he has not raced Cup cars there before. Last year, he achieved his best Xfinity Series finish of fourth place at Richmond driving for Sam Hunt Race. Additionally, he has three starts in the Track Series on Virginia short tracks, with a best finish of fifth in 2022.

Currently, 23XI Racing fields three full-time entries: Tyler Reddick in the No. 45, newly crowned Brickyard 400 winner Bubba Wallace, and rookie Riley Herbst in the No. 35.

Fan Take: Corey Heim’s rapid rise through NASCAR’s ranks is exciting for fans hungry for fresh talent, promising fierce competition and new storylines in the sport. His development with a top team like 23XI Racing highlights NASCAR’s commitment to nurturing young drivers and securing the sport’s future.
