Emiliano Martinez was tied to a move away from Aston Villa during the summer transfer period, and PSG now raced to sign him.
The players were initially linked to Manchester United, but the Premier League hopes to sign Gianluigi Donnaruma from the French outfit. It appears that PSG wants to sign Argentina International as an alternative to the Italians.
According to Football Insider, £30 million is enough to complete a South American deal. Aston Villa is about to release funds for a new signature and is ready to sanction the goalkeeper’s departure.
Emiliano Martinez needs big moves
He has been an outstanding player for Aston Villa since joining the club and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in European football.
The opportunity to participate in PSG is extremely exciting for him. This may be his last chance to join an elite club where he can fight for a large trophy. PSG was also able to win the league title in the UEFA Champions League last season.
They were able to provide him with a platform to win major trophies at the club level. He has already won major trophies at the international level with Argentina.
Martinez is going to be a great addition
The reported £30 million ask price seems reasonable for players of his quality. He is at the peak of his career and he could be a very useful player for PSG this season. He could easily justify his investment.
Meanwhile, Aston Villas will need to introduce quality alternatives if they decide to leave South America. He is an essential asset to them, and replacing him is not that easy for them. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.
