Oscar Piastri outpaced his McLaren teammate Lando Norris during the final practice session at the 2025 F1 Hungary Grand Prix. While Norris had initially topped the timesheets earlier in the day, Piastri edged him out by just 0.032 seconds. Charles Leclerc secured third place but was nearly four-tenths slower than the McLaren drivers. Lewis Hamilton improved to fourth but lagged three-tenths behind his Ferrari teammate.

The Aston Martin drivers, Fernando Alonso and Reims, finished sixth and seventh respectively, just ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell in eighth. Both Stake F1 Team drivers, Gabriel Boltreto and Nico Halkenberg, were in the top ten, ranking ninth and tenth. Red Bull drivers faced challenges, with Max Verstappen finishing 12th and Yuki Tsunoda placing 19th. The qualifying session for the Hungarian Grand Prix is scheduled to start at 3 pm UK time.

Fan Take: This shake-up in practice results adds fresh excitement for racing enthusiasts, highlighting the rising competitiveness within McLaren and the struggles of Red Bull. It could signal a thrilling season ahead where underdogs like Piastri challenge the established front-runners, potentially reshaping the sport’s dynamic.
