Newcastle has had a difficult summer so far, and their efforts on the field didn’t get much better before the season. A draw against Tottenham followed by a loss to Arsenal and K-League All-Star XI, followed by a draw against them, with many flashpoints during that match in Korea.

During the encounter, Jollington appeared to catch Tottenham midfielder Archie Gray with his arm. This prompted many reactions on social media, especially after an incident similar to that of Arsenal’s senses happened the previous week.

Jollington is known as one of the toughest opponents in the Premier League, but according to Keith Hackett, he’s doing too much. The former re-filer has urged Eddie Howe to continue checking out Brazilian midfielders following Tottenham news.

“I think Jollington’s manager needs to have a word with him. This is another incident in which his arm is raised and contacted with the other. In my opinion, in my opinion, he should be frankly detected and punished by the match officials.

“The sports analyst employed by PGMOL advises the referees to pay attention to this action. We’ll also look at the VAR operators in detail. He needs to change his approach and demonstrate his skills.”

Jollington was a player the referees have been particularly focused on considering his disciplinary record. And this is expected to change in the 2025-26 season when he once again becomes an integral member of the Newcastle team. But it’s important that he avoids picking up regular suspensions because of how important he is.
