Fans of this weekend’s FedEx St. Jude Championship can be like Scotty Schaeffler.

Netflix is launching “Scottie’s Chicken Shack” at the event. This nods to the four major winner role in “Happy Gilmore 2.”

In the film, released on Netflix on July 25th, Scheffler punches the team he’s facing, Maxi Golfer, making a playful cameo that will handcuff him as a nod to the famous character’s famous short Hughes tongue. The scene also mentions Schaeffler’s real-life arrest by Louisville Metro police outside of Valhalla Golf Club after attempting to drive to the entrance to the 2024 PGA Championship site.

The officer approaches Schaeffler and says, “Three days have passed – are you sure you don’t want to make that call?”

“It depends. What’s dinner?” Schaeffler asks. The officer says the chicken finger and urges Schaeffler to “I’ll stick it on another night.”

TPC Southwind’s Chicken Shack includes Schaeffler’s photo manipulation from scenes where fans can “take their time.” The menu features classic chicken fingers, Memphis honey gold chicken fingers and enthusiastic lemon pepper wet fingers.

Schaeffler called the experience “very fun” and said Adam Sandler and his team did a good job of making golfers comfortable.

“One of the things I told them after I finished filming the film was, ‘You do a great job, I think the film is great,’ he said Wednesday. “But most importantly, everyone on the film set was incredible. Everyone was relaxed. They worked so hard, but they enjoyed it while they were doing it.”

Schaeffler was one of many past and present golfers in the film, including Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, Rory McIlroy, Bryson de de Hambow and Brooks Koepka.

He added that his family and friends enjoyed the film, but Schaeffler never liked the spotlight, but expressed that seeing yourself on the big screen was a unique experience.

“I think it’s a bit strange to see ourselves. We’re sitting in the prime minister. Whenever we come on screen, it’s just a strange feeling and definitely something we’re not used to,” he said. “But like I said, we had a lot of filming it. The reception from the public seems really good.”

Schaeffler won the Open Championship last month.
