Manchester United reportedly faces payments of up to £115 million for the potential transfer of Brighton midfielder Carlos Valleva.
Cameroon International has been shining between in Brighton and has recently been the subject of a survey from Man Utd.
It added that journalist Ben Jacobs said the Red Devils did not receive a response about Valeva’s asking price.
However, according to the X post below, the Seagulls appears to be someone who can command a £115 million fee by next summer, just like if they had sold Moises Caiceco to Chelsea.
“Brighton’s preference is to keep Carlos Valleva up until at least the summer of 2026,” Jacobs posted. “Manchester United are making inquiries via intermediaries and prices are not quoted. The Brighton class believes it is as valuable as Moses Caseco, the club sold one day. #CFC For £115 million. ”
Transfers from Carlos Valleva to Manchester United could inflate fees
Valeva is definitely a huge talent, but even Kaiseko doesn’t deserve what Chelsea paid him for.
In short, the Blues deal with Kaiseko appears to have inflated the market significantly, with Brighton thinking it could charge a slightly unrealistic fee for the star name.
It remains to be seen whether United will be paying that much for Valeva or move on to other, more affordable targets instead.
Man United should be careful of Baleva’s overexpenditure
MUFC has been stabbed several times in recent years after wasting money on poor signatures such as Antony, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund.
Even before that, during the post-Suil Alex Ferguson era there were other expensive flops like Paul Pogba, Angel Di Maria and Harry Maguire.
Baleba could be suitable for top clubs like United, but it will be interesting to see if Brighton can win such a huge transfer fee once again.
United will certainly want to show that after getting many of their recent signatures wrong, they can’t be forced to pay too much again.
