Chelsea is interested in signing Ronald Araujo from Barcelona this summer.

According to Soccer Espanna, they are ready to pay 50 million euros to sign the players. They also face competition from Liverpool and Tottenham.

Chelsea needs defensive depth

The 26-year-old has been doing very well with the Spanish club and there’s no doubt he has the quality of doing well in the Premier League as well. Chelsea has been hit by a devastating injury recently, with Levi Colwill on the sidelines for months with ACL damage. They need to sign a quality defender and Uruguay International should prove to be a great addition.

He is at the peak of his strength, and he aims to make an immediate impact in the Premier League. If the transfer passes. The 26-year-old can run not only on the side but also on the central side. His versatility is an extra bonus for Chelsea.

It remains to be seen whether an agreement can be secured with Barcelona. The Spanish outfit has been experiencing financial difficulties, and it may be difficult to turn down an offer of 50 million euros.

Liverpool, on the other hand, also needs more depth in their defensive units. Joe Gomez is struggling with persistent injuries and Ibrahima Connate will become a free agent next summer. They need to plan their future and signing South America might be a wise decision.

As far as Spurs are concerned, they were extremely vulnerable defensively last season. It seems Christian Romero might stay at the club, but he needs more talent in the defensive forces. Another defender would be ideal, and the Barcelona star could be a great acquisition.

It will be interesting to see which of the three clubs can complete the transaction.
