Page Bookers Express Disappointment with Azzi Hood Following a Significant Personal Milestone

Azzi Fudd stayed close to Paige Bueckers even after a standout personal moment featured in Athlon Sports. Known for her impressive three-point shooting from anywhere on the court, Fudd’s ability to throw a baseball is still developing. The UConn star and likely top pick in the WNBA draft recently shared the story behind her ceremonial first pitch at a Washington Nationals game.

In the latest episode of her podcast, “Fudd and in out,” Fudd revealed that her throw didn’t quite make it to the catcher. However, her girlfriend and UConn legend Paige Bueckers found the video amusing. “She was pretty disappointed that it hit the ground,” Fudd laughed, “but she said, ‘Well, at least you’re pretty.’ ”

Fudd admitted she had never thrown a baseball before and felt nervous about the moment. To avoid embarrassment, her dad took her to practice in the parking lot at Dick’s Sporting Goods the night before the game. Still, the pitch bounced before reaching the plate. While social media showed flattering angles, Bueckers had seen the full clip many times.

This moment added to a list of public displays by the couple, who have grown more open about their relationship over the past year.

Looking ahead, Fudd and Bueckers could reunite as teammates in the WNBA. The Dallas Wings, currently struggling in the standings, are favorites to get the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft. If Dallas selects Fudd, she would join Bueckers, reuniting the dynamic UConn backcourt duo that dominated college basketball in recent years.

Such a reunion would be a major event for the WNBA, as it’s rare to see star college teammates link up professionally. Both players have the potential to change the franchise’s fortunes instantly, offering elite scoring, basketball IQ, and a strong fan connection. While Fudd may still be perfecting her baseball throw, she and Bueckers continue to be one of the most exciting pairs in women’s basketball.

Fan Take: For WNBA fans, the potential reunion of Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers on the Dallas Wings could be a game-changer, injecting new energy and star power into the league. Their partnership represents not just exceptional talent but also a compelling story that can raise the league’s profile and inspire new fans.
