Liverpool manager Arne Slot dealt with the unpleasant situation of the pre-match tribute and moved forward with Diogo Jota being suspended and prematurely finished.

Sadly, Jota and his brother were killed in a car accident early in the summer, Liverpool fans lamented the previous No. 20 and pay tribute to him with pre-season fixtures.

Before Community Shield played against Crystal Palace there was a minute of silence at Wembley Stadium, but it had to be shortened due to the noise.

Journalist James Bengue quoted slots after the game when asked about his thoughts on the incident, so it appears that the Dutch tactician is probably a misunderstanding by one palace fan and is trying to stay quiet with others…

“I don’t think this is planned,” Slot said. “The fans may have been unaware of the silence of the moment, they were happy and tried to cheer on his team. And the palace fans tried to calm him down. I don’t think they had any bad intentions.”

Jota was an important part of Liverpool’s first team, a popular member of the team, and his death clearly struck a very violent attack on everyone involved with the club.

Liverpool retired from the No. 20 shirt in honor of Jota, but fans laid out wreaths outside Anfield, with several players attending his funeral.

There is still a lot of damage in Liverpool. And it must be hard for them to enter a new season that isn’t too long after such shocking and sad news.

Liverpool was beaten with Community Shield

Overall, it wasn’t Liverpool’s day as they lost in a penalty to Wembley’s palace following a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.

New signatures Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong were impressed with the goals for their LFC debut, but not enough to prevent the palace from coming from behind twice.
