The Mets have promoted four promising prospects: infielder/center fielder Jet Williams (ranked No. 1), right-handed pitcher Jonah Tong (No. 2), outfielder Carson Benge (No. 3), and first baseman Ryan Clifford (No. 6), according to Sunday’s report from Athletic’s Will Sammon, moving them from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A Syracuse.

Additionally, outfielder AJ Ewing (No. 9) will be advancing from High-A Brooklyn to Binghamton, as reported by Sammon.

Pitcher Jonah Tong, 22, recently pitched five or more innings allowing only one run on three hits in a 2-0 loss against the Somerset Patriots. This season, Tong holds an 8-5 record with a stellar 1.59 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP over 20 starts in Binghamton.

Jet Williams, 21, was the Mets’ 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 MLB Draft. Over 96 games this season in Binghamton, he has posted a batting line of .281/.390/.477, with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs.

Carson Benge, 22, the 19th overall pick in the Mets’ first round of the 2024 draft, was promoted to Binghamton on June 23. In 32 Double-A games, he has recorded a .317/.407/.571 slash line with eight home runs and 23 RBIs.

Ryan Clifford, also 22, has compiled a .243/.355/.493 slash line with 24 home runs and 75 RBIs across 105 games for Binghamton.

Outfielder AJ Ewing, 21, is enjoying a breakout season following his promotion from Low-A St. Lucy to Brooklyn. In 78 games with Brooklyn, he is hitting .288/.387/.388 with two home runs and 26 RBIs.

Fan Take: This wave of promotions highlights the Mets’ deep farm system and signals a bright future for the team. Baseball fans should be excited as these rising stars could soon make a significant impact at the major league level, invigorating the sport with fresh talent and competitive energy.
