Your support will help us tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to big technology, the independence is on the ground when stories develop. Whether you’re researching the finances of Elon Musk’s Pro-Trump PAC, or producing the latest documentary, The Words, we shed light on American women fighting for reproductive rights, but we know how important it is to analyze facts from a message.

At such a crucial moment in American history, we need a reporter on the ground. Your donation allows us to send journalists to continue talking to both sides of the story.

Independents are trusted by Americans throughout the political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans from reports and analytics using paywalls. We believe that quality journalism should be available to everyone who is paid by those who can afford it.

The Ryder Cup 2025 is approaching Team USA’s bid after the last humble defeat in Rome.

Luke Donald’s side stood out in 2023 and is currently hoping to become the second away team to win since 2006.

The famous 2012 European victory known as the “Miracle of Medina” allowed European teams to calm down and inspire Rory McIlroy, John Rahm and co-inspired by the PGA Tour throughout 2025.

However, world No. 1 Scotty Schaeffler hopes to lead the hosts after a dominant victory at Royal Portrush and win the Open as his fourth major championship.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Ryder Cup at Beth Page Black:

Where is the Ryder Cup 2025 located?

The 45th Ryder Cup will be held from Friday, September 26th to Sunday, September 28th.

Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York will be hosted.

The first session may start at BST (7am to 8am) on Fridays from 12pm to 1pm, while the afternoon session may start at BST (12-1pm ET) from 5pm to 6pm.

Independent sports brings you full coverage from Bethpage Black with hall-by-hole updates, scores and results on the Ryder Cup Live blog.

Ryder Cup 2025 Schedule

Days 1-2: Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th

There will be morning and afternoon sessions with Foursome and Fourball. Morning may start from 12pm to 1pm (7am to 8am ET). For reference, Roman Friday and Saturday sessions began at 7:35am, and afternoon sessions began at 12:25pm.

Day 3: Sunday, September 28th

Singles usually start on Sunday mornings and the last day in Rome at 11:35am. So, the actions that go from 4 to 5pm on Bethpage Black and BST can make similar plans.

what format?

The glove has 28 points along with the winner needed to reach 14.5 points. The owner can protect the cup by reaching 14 points, and guarantees that they will draw and hold the cup.

The competition lasts for three days, and on the first two days, Friday and Saturday, players will watch them fight it via Foursome (alternative shot) and Fourball (better ball). The action ends with 12 singles matches on Sunday.

Each match will increase one point, but if the match is tied after 18 holes, the points can be halved, with each team earning half the points.

Players involved in foursome (alternative shots) and fourball (better balls) will be announced just before each session, with all players being tasked with appearing in singles matches on Sunday.

Course: Beth Page Black, New York

Bethpage Black is known as one of the most challenging golf courses in the world. It’s a par 71, reaching a difficult 7,426 yards in favor of long batters on the tour.

Players will be greeted with the first tee sign. “The black course is a very difficult course and is recommended only for very skilled golfers.”

This course included three major championships held on the course, including the 2019 PGA Championship, which was won by Brooks Koepka, who is competing to participate in Team USA.

The course setup is in the hands of the host. This means that the US can adjust conditions to suit players. That said, Team Europe’s talent and traits are very similar to Team USA, so this time there aren’t much advantages.

Players can expect narrower fairways and deeper roughness, and prefer players who can carry the ball over a long journey. Hole 15 is famous for being difficult and is known as the “beast.”

  12. Rasmus Hojgaard

This is roughly the same as the one that beat the US in Rome, with many changes between now and September, but Rasmus Hodgegard nicked the final spot and slammed his twin brothers from the team. For Donald, the current top six automatic qualifier is to get the most control over the composition on his side, any player who chooses anyway. While Aaron Rye, Nikolai Whaigard, Matt Wallace and others have plenty of time to knock players off towards the summer, they also rely on LIV golf situations that don’t stop John Lahm, Tyrrell Hutton or Garcia from choosing.
