In the last eight seasons of the English Premier League, only Manchester City and Liverpool have claimed the championship title. Following a remarkable four-season stretch from 2020 to 2024, Manchester City experienced a slip in form during the 2024-25 season, finishing in third place.

Liverpool finished the season with 84 points, securing a comfortable 10-point lead over second-place Arsenal.

Sportsbook operators expect more thrilling competition this season.

As of now, Liverpool is favored to defend its title with odds of +175 from BetMGM, trailed by Arsenal at +240 and Manchester City at +300.

However, Chelsea, with odds of +900, is the team attracting the most bets, as 19.3% of all wagers at BetMGM are backing them. Chelsea ended the previous season in fourth place.

Manchester United, with their 20 Premier League titles, opened at 33-1 odds and garnered 14.1% of the total bets (fourth) before shifting to 28-1 odds while accounting for 33.4% of the overall betting volume. The Red Devils currently have the least favorable outlook from the sportsbooks.

The football community is also mourning the tragic loss of former midfielder Diogo Jota, who passed away in a car accident in July. In his honor, Liverpool will retire the No. 20 jersey this season.

Burnley and Sunderland hold the longest odds at 1000-1.

The anticipation surrounding this season is palpable for soccer fans, as the rivalry between top teams promises an exciting race for supremacy. Additionally, the emotional tribute to Diogo Jota serves as a poignant reminder of the human stories intertwined with the sport, making it even more meaningful for supporters.
