  • Kostas Tsimikas was dropped for community shield
  • Liverpool is ready to let Tsumikas leave this summer

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has made a huge difference to his team now preparing for a new season.

The Reds are looking to defend their Premier League title this season, adding more firepower to their team to achieve their goals.

Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez have already been signed this summer.

Despite the closure windows being closed in 20 days, the Merseyside Club hopes to add more to the team, particularly in the after-sale attack positions of Nunes and Diaz.

There are still a few players who can now leave the club by the end of the transfer window.

Kostas Tsimikas was dropped for community shield

Liverpool’s team for a clash with Community Shield’s Crystal Palace has one of the players gone missing due to his uncertain future.

According to Transfer News expert Fabrizio Romano, Greek defender Costas Zimicus is scheduled to leave the club this summer, which is why he was dropped from the Liverpool team.

Tsimikas’ absence is not due to injuries or spinning, but rather reflects his current position in the team’s plans. The 29-year-old left-back, who joined Liverpool from the Olympiacos in 2020, is widely expected to leave the club before the transfer period closes.

During his stay at Liverpool, the defender has played a supportive role primarily for first-choice left back Andy Robertson.

However, consistent starting opportunities are limited and with Liverpool embarking on a new tactical era under the slot, it appears Tsimikas are looking for a move that will secure a more regular first-team football.

Nottingham Forest is one of the clubs that we kept in touch early in the transfer period, and explores the possibilities of bringing experienced fullbacks to the city’s ground.

Forest’s interest stems from the need to strengthen defensive depth, and Tsimikas’ Premier League experience makes him a valuable target. No official bids have been confirmed, but more development is expected in the coming days as the Greek defender is taking into account his options.

Liverpool signed Kerkez this summer, and Robertson’s presence has made Tsimikas unable to get enough playing time this season, and his career and the Reds are better in a different way.
