Titan Steps Up Centre Kushenberry Following Achilles Injury Setback

The Tennessee Titans revealed on Monday that they are committed to bringing back center Lloydukshenberry after he endured a season-ending Achilles injury in week 9 against the New England Patriots last year. Titans director Brian Callahan expressed confidence in Kushenberry’s progress, highlighting his hard work and readiness to return.

In March 2023, the Titans secured Kushenberry with a four-year, $50 million deal, making him one of the NFL’s top-paid centers. Over eight games last season, he allowed only one sack and had an 89% success rate in pass blocking, according to Tru Media. Veteran Corey Levin filled in at center during Kushenberry’s absence, handling all first-team reps at training camp.

Additionally, Tennessee signed backup quarterback Trevor Siemian while releasing Tim Boyle. Siemian joined the practice squad last October and was activated for two games before being placed on the active roster for November, though he never played. Boyle, who was signed in March, struggled in the preseason opener against the Buccaneers, completing just one of four passes for 24 yards with an interception.

Before Friday’s second season game, the Titans played the Falcons and then participated in joint practices in Atlanta on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fan Take: This update is crucial for NFL fans as Kushenberry’s return could solidify the Titans’ offensive line, impacting their performance significantly. Keeping key players healthy and maintaining strong line play is vital for the evolving strategies within the league.
