Odyssey Sims’ Past Remarks on Kate Linklark Resurface Following Her Signing with the Indiana Fever

Odyssey Sims’ past remarks about Kate Linklark have become a topic of discussion again after Linklark signed with the Indiana Fever, as initially reported by Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever secured a decisive 92-70 victory over the Chicago Sky on Saturday night, improving their record to 18-14 and winning six of their last eight games.

The team’s roster was further strained following season-ending injuries to Sidney Colson and Ahri MacDonald during Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Mercury. In response, the Fever quickly signed veteran Odyssey Sims on a hardship contract on Sunday. Sims, an 11-year veteran and 2019 All-Star, played earlier this year for the Los Angeles Sparks, starting in 11 games and averaging 9.8 points and 3.5 assists per outing.

Following the signing, a video resurfaced on Sims’ social media where she spoke about her former Dallas Wings teammate Kate Linklark from last season. Sims praised Linklark’s high-level play and acknowledged her talent, though she mentioned not knowing her personally. While the Fever still face challenges in their roster depth, Sims brings valuable veteran leadership and immediate contribution potential.

Sims’ professional career includes time with several teams after a standout collegiate career at Baylor. She has played for the Tulsa Shock, Dallas Wings (two stints), Los Angeles Sparks (two stints), Minnesota Lynx, Atlanta Dream, and Connecticut Sun. Over her career, Sims has averaged 11.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game, and now aims to make an impact with the Fever.

Fan Take: This move by the Indiana Fever is a crucial step in bolstering their roster amid injury setbacks, showcasing the importance of experienced players like Odyssey Sims in the league. For WNBA fans, it signals an exciting opportunity to see seasoned talent help elevate team performance and maintain competitive spirit as the season progresses.
