ISTANBUL, Turkey – Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce made a dramatic comeback in the Champions League qualifying playoffs, overcoming a two-goal deficit against Feyenoord, managed by Robin van Persie.

After losing 2-1 in the Netherlands last week, Fenerbahce found themselves trailing yet again in the second leg of their third qualifying round matchup.

However, Mourinho’s squad quickly turned the tide, netting two goals before halftime, with Colombian striker John Duran scoring on loan from Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr.

Fenerbahce secured their progression with an aggregate score of 6-4.

The team will now face Benfica, who triumphed over Nice in their qualifying match, in the playoff round scheduled for next week.

This report incorporates information from the Associated Press.

FAN TAKE: This thrilling comeback not only highlights the competitive nature of the Champions League but also underscores Mourinho’s tactical acumen, sending a message to rivals. For soccer fans, such dramatic turnarounds encapsulate the thrill of the game and the unpredictability that makes the sport so captivating.
