Liverpool Targets Strong Finish in Transfer Window with Isak, Guehi, and Leoni in Sight!

Liverpool has made a strong entrance into the summer transfer window by acquiring Jeremy Fripon, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wiltz, and Hugo Ekichique.

According to reliable sources such as Paul Joyce, David Ornstein, and Fabrizio Romano, the Merseyside club is negotiating a deal for Mark Guehi, the captain of Crystal Palace. The England international has agreed to personal terms, and with under a year left on his contract, Palace is likely to accept a total deal valued at around £35 million.

Additionally, Liverpool is in talks with Parma regarding 18-year-old center-back Geovanni Leoni. While there are suggestions that Leoni may continue on loan at Parma until the 2025/26 season, Romano disputes this possibility.

After Jarrel Kuansa’s transfer to Bayer Leverkusen and Ibrahima Konaté’s hesitance to renew his contract—his current deal has less than a year remaining—the club is facing some challenges.

Moreover, with the exits of Luis Diaz and Darwin Núñez, along with Diogo Jota’s injury, Liverpool now fields only three experienced forwards: Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Hugo Ekichike. The Premier League champions have made a record bid for Alexander Isak at Newcastle, but it was turned down.

Newcastle’s manager Eddie Howe has emphasized that he wants players who are committed to the club, and Isak has reportedly communicated his reluctance to continue at Newcastle. Liverpool, seen as a desirable option for the 25-year-old Swedish international, is poised to make another offer.

Fan Take: This news highlights Liverpool’s aggressive strategy in the transfer market, which could significantly reshape their squad and competitiveness in the upcoming season. The potential acquisitions reflect not just a pursuit of glory, but also a broader trend in soccer where clubs actively seek to strengthen their lineups in anticipation of heightened competition.
