  • Man Utd still targets other strikers after Sesko
  • Why United’s latest targets are better than Sesco

Despite Manchester United finishing 15th in the Premier League last season, excitement is undoubtedly being built at Old Trafford ahead of the new campaign.

Reuben Amorim was given the budget to make the changes he wanted to make to the first team to avoid repeated 2024/25 season.

The attack division was subject to the biggest changes in the window, with the hierarchy blowing £200 million on new talent to improve the frontline.

Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko are all joining Red Devils.

Given the tally of 13 league goals in the Bundesliga last season, he offers an optional upgrade at his manager’s disposal, but other targets still appear to be considered by the board.

Ollie Watkins is being touted as a potential option for United, and Aston Villa may be aiming to move forward between the present and the end of the transfer window.

The 29-year-old, who scored 17 times in the Premier League, could potentially be available for a fee in the £60 million region.

But he is not the only British in their field of vision at the moment, and according to one Spanish outlet, Bayern Munich star Harry Kane has another talent for their field of vision.

They claim that there will be a £56 million release clause in his current contract at 32, which will become active next summer and become available to the Red Devils.

He also said he is keen to return to the Premier League after three years of stint in Germany, and that Amorim himself has approved the deal.

Why United’s latest targets are better than Sesco

After beating Newcastle for Sesco’s signature, the Slovenian has United fanbase pressure on the shoulders entering the 2025/26 campaign.

The 22-year-old, who costs a whopping £74 million, will need to offer the goods after the shapes of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, especially in recent seasons.

The pair, the Red Devils’ main center forward option, registered only seven league goals in total, contributing to a small tally of the sides of goals in last year’s 44 leagues.

Sesko is responsible for providing upgrades to the duo. This is what we offer if he can replicate his goalscoring form, which he saw the net nearly twice as much as the pair combined.

However, for the first RB Leipzigster, it could only be one season of the starting role. That is, if Kane completes a potential deal with Old Trafford in the window next summer.

The British previously scored 213 goals in the Tottenham Hotspur Premier League, but they also managed to beat Sesco in the Bundesliga with their latest campaign.

Labeled as “the best finisher in the world” by Gabriel Jesus, Kane notched nearly twice the number of targets and assists, publishing higher shots at target ratings.

He also completed many of the passes he attempted, but more have the tools he has defined as key paths and also offers things like Cunha and Mbeumo in Old Trafford.

The 32-year-old’s dominance over the new addition is further reflected in his air domination, passing the necessary focus that his side has been missing since taking the reins on the side of Amorim.

It is unclear whether Kane’s deal will come true in the coming months, but there is no denying that the English record scorer will be a surprising addition to the Red Devils’ side.

Sesko has the opportunity to prove that he can fill the void at the top edge of the pitch this season, but it’s clear that if he doesn’t cut it in the Premier League, he could replace it with the former Spurs star in 2026/27.
