  • Man UTD prepares for Carlos Valleva’s alternative
  • Why would United’s Baleva alternative be their next Pogba?

Manchester United’s summer transfer period has already been a success for manager Reuben Amorim, but there is still plenty of work left to go before the September 1 deadline.

The 40-year-old has already cleaned up some of the Deadwoods in Old Trafford’s books at the end of each contract, releasing Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen and Johnny Evans.

Other exits will undoubtedly take place over the next few weeks. This could result in additional funds being reinvested into the side ahead of future Premier League campaigns.

Benjamin Sesco, Mateus Cunya and Brian Mbeumo all joined the Red Devils, costing £200 million and completing a deadly trio at the top edge of the pitch.

However, other areas of the side still desperately need reinforcement, so many players could land in an attempt to launch England’s top flight.

Man UTD prepares for Carlos Valleva’s alternative

Carlos Valleva has been one of United’s most important targets these days after a talk between the Red Devils and the player’s aides over the potential switch.

Despite his interest in Brighton’s midfielder, the deal is unlikely to be averse to allowing the youngsters to leave and then putting a £100 million price tag on his head.

However, according to TBR Football, the hierarchy is also exploring the moves of Lucian Agume, now a Sevillain, so they won’t be able to sign a contract for the 21-year-old.

They report that despite their strong interest in Baleva, an alternative to the former reel star has been created, with the French being only one player.

He also said he is considered a cheap alternative this summer and could follow a similar path in the coming years, becoming a talent of £100 million.

Why would United’s Baleva alternative be their next Pogba?

Just a few years ago, United’s midfield division had many elite talent. One of them was Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman rejoined the club for just a few seasons after making a free transfer to join Juventus, returning to Old Trafford as a completely different player.

He registered over 200 appearances during his second spell in the Northwest, often making epic efforts, helping him win the Europa League in his first season in the UK.

However, he continued his free transfer in 2022, eventually kicked out after a good start, and his attitude and commitment to the Red Devils were often called into question.

Regardless of his struggle, Pogba was remembered forever in Manchester, showing the game easily, often dominating the opposition, and had the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of his fellow-born brothers in 2025/26.

The 23-year-old has endured the volatile start of his career, featuring seven clubs in seven years, but it appears he has found his home in Seville in the past few months.

He appeared in Lariga 35 times last season and was often eye-catching on his displays. This led journalist Zach Roy to compare him to former Fan Fiveright Pogba.

Labeled as “extraordinary” by former boss Enrique Sanchez Flores, Agume completed 82% of his passes last season.

He also created 2.9 tackles per 90 and 1.8 tackles per 90, with the latter tally ranked in the top 2% of all players on Spain’s top flight.

The all-out addition talent is highlighted in his tally, where 73% take-ons are completed, allowing past opposition players to slip, emulating the skill set of his fellow-people in the process.

Given the two-year spell on England’s top flight, that can’t be denied given it would be a lot of the first choices for fans to strengthen the midfield division of this window.

However, considering the money spent in other areas, cheaper options need to be considered. Agme is definitely a bargain if he can match his success at the Theatre of Dreams.
