Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has many star players on his team, and some have dipped to less than they hoped.
Blueco has led another major modification of the team, and perhaps this summer, Chelsea is poised to offload more team members as new players fill the space.
Kearney Chukwemeka, Axel Disassi, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Christopher Nukank, Nicholas Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist were able to leave Stamford Bridge prior to their summer transfer on September 1st.
The reasoned seven could follow a host of players out the door, with Kepa Arrizabalaga, Basir Humphreys, Noni Maduke, Marcus Bettinelli, Mathis Amougou, Djordje Petrovic, João Félix, Ishe Samuels-Smith, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu parting company forever.
In most of this window, defender Benoit Badiashile is also linked to the exit door, but the future for the Frenchman has proven to be more complicated.
Badiaseal is not at the forefront of Maresca’s plans, which only started in Premier League matches last season, but he played in all but two games in the Conference League campaign.
The 24-year-old was a solid regular in the first half of the “B-Team,” so to speak, but remains behind Wesley Fofana, Trevo Charova and Levi Colwill.
Unfortunately for Maresca, Colwill is currently set to miss most new campaigns after damaging ACLs in training, and as a result, Chelsea believes he is exploring new centre-back options in the transfer market.
According to some reports, Chelsea can even sign a new defender on an emergency loan, but trading the right players will be difficult considering how late the window is.
They are also continuing their ongoing talks to sign both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, respectively, and taking the attacking duo along will make Chelsea’s summer spending well past the £300 million mark.
Maresca may be forced to consider more internal solutions to the centre-back shortage, and Badiaseal currently receives a lot of support at Cobham.
Chelsea defender Benoit Badiasil was praised by staff behind the scenes
Speaking in London is this week’s Blue Podcast, the former has been a Monaco man garnering real praise from members of the Chelsea staff, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
People within the club are confident that Badiaseal can develop into a consistent and reliable player for Chelsea. Maresca told him to note the star of Ex-Ligue 1 as a potential option.
However, Badia Seal is expected around September, so if Maresca chose to head in that direction he could quickly enter as a cover for Colwill.
“I think it’s Benoit Badiashile’s return in September.
“We haven’t looked too far and we weren’t too concerned about the injuries. Badiaseal is beginning to support a lot of his development within Chelsea, as well as being consistent in playing in Premier League games.”
In another interview on regeneration, Jacobs also revealed that Badiaseal has a fierce work ethic.
