Manchester United hopes to sign a quality central defender, but they have decided to wait until 2026 to get the deal done.

According to GMS, they believe signing a quality central defender this month is complicated. Therefore, they decided to shift their plans until next year. There’s no doubt they need to improve defensively, and a quality central defender would be a wise addition.

They looked vulnerable in the back, and if they want to fight for the main trophy, they need to improve in that area of the pitch. They’ve done well this season to improve their offensive units. It will be interesting to see if they can improve their performance levels this season and promote UEFA Champions League locations. However, clubs of their height should regularly fight for major trophies, and they need to insert weaknesses in their defense to make it happen.
