The wolves were busy this summer. This is mainly because they sold Matthews Kuña and Rayan Ait Nouri to Man United and Man City, respectively. Almost £100 million has been raised from these transactions, which is used to improve Vitor Pereira’s team.

First and foremost, the wolves had to replace Cunha and Ait-nouri, but did so by bringing in Jhon Arias and David Møller Wolfe from Fluminense and Az Alkmaar respectively. And in the former case, his arrival was partly influenced by Pereira.

Talking to ESPN Brasil (via Sport Witness), Wolves manager Pereira revealed that he wants to manage Arias for quite some time.

“I was looking at him as I saw him playing right away on the touchline. After looking up at him and dealing with the issues he had caused us, I told myself, and when the opportunity came, he joined us.

“He’s not a kid. He’s a proven player who’s been consistent for years in the league with his unique characteristics. Of course, he’s a different kind of player. He knows well from facing him in Brazil, so I pushed this signature.”

Arias appeared as a slow alternative during the Wolves’ 4-0 defeat to Man City over the weekend, but given how much Pereira appreciates him, it’s definitely not the case that he can secure a regular spot in Molyneux’s starting lineup.
