Liv Golf League captain Bryson Dechambeau and PGA Tour veterans Russell Henley and Harris English are eligible for the US Ryder Cup team to play Europeans at Bethpage Black in New York next month.

Henry, Deccanbo and English will join the American squad two-time major champion Zander Shaufele at American Open winner JJ Spoon and two-time major champion Zander Shaufele after finishing in the top six in the Ryder Cup following the final round of the BMW Championship on Sunday.

US team captain Keegan Bradley will make his captain’s choice on August 27th, three days after next week’s tour championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

Deccanbaugh, 31, won the second US open title in Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina in 2024, will be appearing in the third Ryder Cup. He had a 2-3-1 record in the 2018 and 2021 Ryder Cups.

English (age 36) created a second US force. He went 1-2-0 as a Ryder Cup rookie in the Americans’ 19-9 victory in the Mouth Whi Strait in Wisconsin. Ranked 8th in the official world golf rankings, English won his first PGA Tour victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in January.

English was also tied second in the PGA Championship in May and second in the Northern Ireland Open in July.

Henry, 36, will join Spaun as a Ryder Cup rookie for Bethpage Black. He won his fifth PGA Tour tournament at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March, then tied him to 10th place at the US Open and Open.

Ranked fifth in the OWGR, Henry is considered one of the best ball strikers on the tour. He ranked fifth in the strokes he received on the total (1.310), the eighth tee (1.049) and the 17th approach (.543).

Justin Thomas, Colin Morakawa, Ben Griffin and Bradley rounded out the top ten this week.

Bradley, the 2024 BMW Championship winner, came in 17th place at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, and won 16 strokes behind Schaeffler, the fifth-time winner of the season.

Bradley said earlier this week that he still doesn’t know if he’ll pick him out on the captain’s pick.

The captain has not played the captain since Arnold Palmer led the Europeans to a 23-9 defeat at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta in 1963.

Maverick McNeely (3rd, 11 under), Sam Burns (4th, 10 under), Cameron Young (11, 5 under), Griffin (12, 3 under), and Brian Herman (19th, even) are fighting for the captain’s pick.

The Ryder Cup will be played from September 26th to 28th.
