Thomas Frank is also enthusiastic before the club “want to sell” Tottenham

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank suddenly missed out on his summer second playmaker on Wednesday evening, so there’s good news when it comes to hiring.

Despite the very high level of talks with the Spurs against Ebeki Eze, Arsenal swooped down to hijack the negotiations of Daniel Levy after Kai Herberts’ injury, and they swiftly rocked their contract with the palace overnight.

Tottenham is believed to have an oral agreement with the palace and agreed to personal terms with Eze, so it seemed like a matter of time before the people of North London welcomed him to the N17.

However, the decision ultimately took Eze as both the Spurs and Arsenal were prepared to meet the palace’s demands at the club level.

England International chose Arsenal for his long-standing connection with them through his boyhood academy year at the club (Alasdair Gold).

They were in this position before this summer, but Morgan Gibbs White failed to seal what was once a very advanced move to Tottenham after Nottingham Forest blocked the deal.

With Spurs’ mission to sign James Maddison’s exchange, it is set to last just 12 days until the September 1 transfer deadline, so Lilywhites also has other positions that need to be strengthened.

Frank believes Tottenham actually needs two numbers after Madison’s long-term injury, but whether Dane will get his wish is another matter.

Elsewhere, it has certainly been reported that the Spurs want to sign a new winger and centre-back (Michael Bridge).

Brentford’s captain Nathan Collins and Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie are one of Tottenham’s defensive targets, but Man City Winger Sabigno is chased by the Spurs despite the Pep Guardiola side blocking current deals (Fabrizio Romano).

Believe it or not, Brentford striker Yoan Wissa is still possible too.

Brentford “I want to sell” Yoan Wissa goes to Tottenham when delaying Newcastle deal

According to Craig’s request in the Mail, there’s a behind the scenes that Brentford wants to “sell” Wissa to Tottenham due to his relationship with Frank, and that Brentford only refused a second bid for the Congee people, causing the bees to delay their deal with Newcastle.

Dane is also keen to sign his former star. However, Wissa’s move relies on the departure of revitalized centre forward Recharson and the club that meets his minimum £50 million rating.

According to the report, the Brazilians were actually offered as makeup grade for Eze’s meeting, but it’s not happening now.

Perhaps the door could be reopened for Whissa if they could offer Richarrison in partial exchange for another playmaker, but for now the 29-year-old has his “heart set” on a move to St. James Park.

He is an excellent alternative to Richarrison, scoring 19 goals in the Premier League last season and has earned plenty of praise from Frank in the past.

“I knew Wissa was always a scorer,” Frank said of Wissa in 2023.

“He scored seven goals in his first season in the Premier League, seven goals second, for a player who didn’t play much. That’s noteworthy. I think he’s the best for a nine-year-old. He has that nose for goals.”
