Manchester United reportedly contacted Chelsea midfielder Andrei Santos.

Chelsea wants to sign Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, and the Red Devils held a discussion with Santos in a talk about Garnacho. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can convince Chelsea to leave the players.

According to Ben Jacobs via GMS, Chelsea doesn’t want to sanction his departure yet. Brazilian International has received high praise at the club and has been able to develop into a key player for the Blues in the future. He was loaned out in Strasbourg last season and was very impressive to them.

There is no doubt that Santos has the quality to thrive in the Premier League. Manchester United hopes to increase quality and depth in the middle of the park, and it’s no surprise that they are exploring their options. They are also linked to players such as Adam Wharton and Carlos Valleva.

West Ham wanted to sign Santos a few days ago.

Man United will need to add a midfield

Manchester United will need to improve their midfield units, and it remains to be seen whether they can bring in appropriate additions before the windows close. Santos could be a solid long-term acquisition for them. They have been doing well over the years at grooming talented young players and have been able to help him reach his potential as well.

The opportunity to move to Manchester United could be exciting for South America too. He is a young player and needs the opportunity to develop. Chelsea may not be able to provide him with that platform. If Manchester United can provide him with the opportunities he needs, that could be an ideal move for him. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will follow up on their enquiries with an offer to sign the players.

Chelsea obviously don’t want to sell, so it’s hard to convince them. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.
