Aston Villa has had a frustrating summer due to lack of signatures, but there is still time for new additions to Unai Emery’s team. A new forward is on the agenda and they are aiming for Nicholas Jackson.

Jackson has been decided to leave Chelsea before the summer transfer window closes, and it’s very likely he will be in the Premier League. Newcastle has him as an option, but it’s likely he’s going to Villa Park now.

Jackson has a good relationship with Aston Villa manager Emery. And according to Pete O’Rourke (via Football Insider), Midlands Club believes they can give them advantages in the race signing the 24-year-old, 24-year-old, who scored 10 goals and five assists in the Premier League last season.

“There are many clubs watching Nicholas Jackson on the last day of the transfer window. He is preferred at Chelsea, and down the order of pecking, they give him a green light to go, and there’s an obvious link between Jackson and Unai Emery.

“Emery gave him his Laliga debut at Villarial. The two have a good relationship. Emery hopes to give his team an advantage when following up on his interest in Jackson. It’s a deal they’re working on, and the agreement is high.

It will be very interesting to see where Jackson ends when the summer transfer window closes. Aston Villa is right there, but there is still a way to go before an agreement with Chelsea is reached.
