The 2025-26 Premier League season is just two games, and first management looting could occur at West Ham, where a new campaign has already got off to a disastrous start.

The Hammers lost 3-0 at Sunderland in the opening match before losing 5-1 to Chelsea at London Stadium on Friday. So far, we’ve seen them now pay attention to Chelsea’s exiled Raheem Sterling, coupled with the below sub-transfer window.

As West Ham Manager, the poorest record in West Ham history, Potter manages only a mere 0.95 points per game. The club’s hierarchy recognizes this and if this gets worse, they are ready to make their move.

According to Express, if West Ham loses the next two games, Potter could be fired. The Hammers will face the Wolves in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, then travel to Nottingham Forest with their latest Premier League fixtures next weekend.

If West Ham loses to Wolves and Nottingham Forest, the club’s hierarchy is expected to discuss Potter’s future during the international break. And if it reaches it, it could ease his duties as manager.

Potter could be the second West Ham manager to be fired in 12 months of space after Julen Lopetegui fired in 2024. If they could do that, they would be more confident in their positive outcomes for Nottingham Forest.
