  • Everton competes for free agent Lindelof
  • Lindelof’s ballplay and aviation capabilities can help Moyes

Over the weekend, Everton won the first Premier League of the season after beating Brighton 2-0. Both goals were courtesy of Jack Grelish assists, and David Moet spoke about the quality they added to the side over the summer.

“That’s what we wanted and waited. We want to add that extra quality. That’s what we’re trying to do. Keenan (Dewsbury Hole) and Jack both played very well.

Everton then further improved his team by signing Tyler Diving from Southampton. The diling is played on the right side of Everton’s attack. Everton’s attack is an area that has lacked depth in recent months.

This combination of grelish and diveli gives Moy two skilled wingers, undoubtedly helping his side push towards last year’s Premier League. There’s still time left in the transfer window, but Everton is turning his attention to the other end of the pitch so that it appears to bring in another centre-back.

Everton competes for free agent Lindelof

Everton is about to sign Swedish national team captain Victor Lindelof with a free transfer. Lindelov’s contract with Manchester United expired at the end of last season, eight years with the club. During his stay at United, Lindelof faced Everton 12 times. All of these were in the Premier League, defeating Toffees in six times.

Everton’s interest is reported by Fabrizio Romano. Fabrizio Romano also revealed that he will face competition with Fiorentina, the Italian side, who is in high negotiations to sign Lindelov. Fiorentina now has former United goalkeeper David De Gere between the sticks – the two players shared the pitch for 16,127 minutes, with De Gay playing player Lindelof the most side-by-side.

X’s Swedish Rumble posted that Lindelof’s favorite destination was one of London’s clubs, including Flam, West Ham and Crystal Palace. This could indicate his desire to stay in the Premier League, which could allow Everton to move him away from Florence.

Lindelof’s ballplay and aviation capabilities can help Moyes

If Everton can seduce Lindelof from Fiorentina, they will have a reliable ball-playing centre-back in his hand. Last season, Lindelov belonged to the top 7% of players due to passing accuracy, while the top 5% of players were getting longer ball accuracy.

During his time at United, Lindelof had many centre-back partners, but one of his most featured was Harry Maguire. Maguire is often praised for his aviation capabilities, but Lindelof is also capable of airborne. United Stand presenter Mark Goldbridge was praising Lindelof for his aerial abilities after beating Aston Villa 1-0.

“To me, there are eight people today and he gets the guy for the match. The amount of Aerial (Dale) Lindelov today was what I thought was watching the Little Mermaid. I thought it was absolutely amazing. Great.”

Lindelof’s time, not playing for Manchester United, may prove worthy for Everton too. Later in his united career, Lindelov took down a centre-backpecking order, cutting game time considerably. However, this did not speak of destructive behavior, and he always played towards consistent standards when he was ultimately asked.
