  • Why Hincapie is incredible for Gyoker

It’s a great time to become an Arsenal fan at this point.

Mikel Arteta’s team won the first two games of the Premier League season without acknowledging a goal.

Additionally, the gunners looked sensational against Leeds United over the weekend, with Victor Gyoker taking the mark with a sublime solo goal and an emphatic penalty.

The Swedish scorer could be the Arsenal difference maker this season, and exciting news is that the club is locked in another signature that can make him even more effective.

Fans have always wanted a different signature, but of course Arsenal has already done a great job in the transfer market this summer.

Despite being the first window of work, sports director Andrea Berta has so far made seven additions to Arteta’s side.

However, the people of North London are not doing there. They are now trapped in another great signature, which means they can get even more from the prolific Swedes.

At least that’s according to a recent report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Arsenal is still very interested in Piero Hinkapie.

More than that, Italian journalists have revealed that the gunners have agreed to personal terms with the player and are now accelerating their meeting with Bayer Lebakusen.

Interestingly, Romano argues that North London preferences will be loans that are obligated to purchase. This would not be much of a surprise if other reports claim that Ecuadorian release clause is £52 million.

However, this deal is ultimately constructed and it’s worth it for Arsenal as Hinkapie is an incredible player and someone who can make Gyoker even better.

Why Hincapie is incredible for Gyoker

So, Gyoker sometimes drifts wildly and even comes back to help play link-ups, but he is fundamentally a striker who likes to spend his time inside and around the penalty area.

This is also clear when examining his shot map from last season. Because most of them came from within the penalty area.

In other words, to maximize his effectiveness, Arsenal needs to deliver the ball to him in these dangerous areas.

Luckily, these are great things Hincapee does.

The Leverkusen star is a defender and may be great on top of that, but one of his real strengths is his ability to plunder byline and fire with a cross to finish his teammates.

In fact, he is so skilled at doing this that analyst Ben Matinon described him as “Ben White on the left.”

However, the underlying numbers for the 23-year-old dynamo paint a picture of a rampage fullback that can relatively easily pull the ball to a striker, so don’t look at our words.

According to FBREF, he ranks in the top 3% of fullbacks in Europe’s top 5 leagues, with top 5% of progressive passing distance, top 5% of progressive carrying distance and overall carry, top 8% of passes to the final third, and all about 90.

Ultimately, he’s not leaning forward when it comes to defense, but Hincapy’s biggest strength is his ability to fly the pitch and put the ball into dangerous areas. This is also why he dreams of signing Gyoker.

So, even if the final price is higher than Arsenal wants, you need to do everything you can to ensure an exciting fullback signature.
