  • West Ham United approaches signing new goalkeeper
  • Mads Hermansen struggles to perform

West Ham United are again targeting Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor as they are trying to strengthen their inter-post options before the end of the transfer window.

According to GivemeSport, Hammer is having a debate over potential loan agreements, including options to buy at the end of the season. This could rebuild the number one shirt competition at London Stadium.

Victor, who is currently in Botafogo, revealed that he is eager to have an opportunity to test himself in the Premier League.

Sources close to the player suggest that he is “very motivated” by his prospect of making a switch to the UK, and believes he has the ability to establish himself as the first choice option in one of the toughest leagues in world football.

Renewed interest in Victor comes at a delicate time for West Ham’s current goalkeeper, Mads Hermansen. Danish International was signed by Leicester City early in the summer in a deal promoted by Director Graham Potter.

However, the early signs were less convincing, with Hermansen admitting eight goals on his first two Premier League outings.

That unstable start made Potter think of another strengthening of his goal.

Club executives are beginning to question whether Hermansen is the right choice, especially considering the £10 million expenditure originally allocated for Victor early in the window, before West Ham turned his attention to the former Leicester man.

Potter, who has coached Hammer with just five wins in 22 games since he was in charge, is believed to be seeking additional signatures to strengthen his team.

Bringing Victor can provide both immediate competition and long-term stability, and Brazilians are keen to seize opportunities if the move comes true.
