  • The latest in the future of Amorim at United
  • Why United’s Amorim alternative will become Klopp 2.0

Manchester United’s defeat against League 2 Grimsbytown at the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night definitely set a new low for Reuben Amorim during his tenure.

The Red Devils were knocked out in the second round of the competition and lost by a penalty after dropping from two goals in the second half.

But that may prove to be a terrible defeat for a 40-year-old.

His team couldn’t win any of the first three games. This allows the hierarchy to force changes.

There are still a few days left in the window, but it remains to be seen whether rumors are spreading that the former sports CP boss is rumored about his future at Old Trafford.

The latest in the future of Amorim at United

Over the past few days, it has been reported by CatedOffside that United Hierarchy is considering making a manager change after a disastrous start to Amorim’s new season.

The report says it is only a matter of time before the 40-year-old is given a march order and has concerns about his ability to move forward in the future.

Ineos is said to be willing to make an early decision to fire the boss to avoid the repetition of last season.

The same article states that Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is lined up as a potential replacement if Amorim is rejected from his position at Old Trafford.

The FA Cup-winning boss wants to take the reins and says he could become the next manager on a long list trying to bring the Red Devils back to their former glory.

Why United’s Amorim alternative will become Klopp 2.0

Jürgen Klopp is the manager who has not united the end of the problem for many years, leading rival Liverpool to countless victories over the Red Devils in the Premier League.

The Germans claimed a historic 7-0 victory at Anfield in the 2022/23 campaign as they only received five losses on 21 outings against the Red Devils.

He may have managed their bitter rivals, but he will not deny that the former Reds boss is a back-to-back winner – what United lacked is awaiting their 10-year top division title.

He may lose control after he leaves Liverpool in 2024, but there is no chance he will return to management and replace Amorim – especially considering his relationship with Merseyside costume.

However, Ineos was able to hire his own answer to Klopp with Glasner’s move. The Eagles boss was previously compared to German expert Constantin Eckner’s Premier League legend.

“Glasner was known as a gentle, restrained manager, but he seemed to have come out of his shell during that Europa League run, and often assisted the players through gestures and instructions with a kind of intensity similar to Jurgen Klopp.”

Called “incredible” by Pep Guardiola, Glasner achieved a better win rate than Amorim.

He also scores better points per game record and has the tools to change the fate of the Red Devils if he takes the reins in the coming months.

Austrian control over United’s bosses is further reflected in his ability to build solid defensive forces – achieving better goals every 90 records.

Amorim’s future in this role may be nearing an end in the coming weeks, but it is clear that such a decision is the right decision after showing embarrassment in the Carabao Cup.

Glasner is an excellent alternative, already winning two trophies in recent months and has gotten the tools to bring glorious days back to Old Trafford.
