Leeds United’s team went bankrupt in history in 2019/20, and the whites returned to the Premier League after 16 years of absence under Marcelo Bielsa, who celebrated the club’s 100th anniversary.

Patrick Bamford played a key role on that side, but left the club seven years later at Elland Road. The striker was not in Daniel Fark’s Premier League plan after Bamford became the winner of two championships in Leeds and ended his mutual contracts.

In 2020, Bielsa had 18 players on the Leeds team, and Whites ultimately won the league 10 points ahead of West Brom, making it a total of more than 10 championships.

Luke Eyling, a right-back regular and that great volley scorer with the town of Huddersfield, is currently at Championship Side Middlesbrough.

He initially moved to Riverside on loan in 2024, then made a permanent move, and was on the contract until 2026.

16

Ben White

46 appearances

Having started all the championship games of the season, Ben White sealed off a big buck to Arsenal in 2021, where he became a regular.

White is about £50 million and has been featured as a centre-back or right-back, and will be signed with the Emirates until 2028.

15

Liam Cooper

38 appearances

Side captain Liam Cooper left Leeds in 2024 after appearing in Whites 284 times.

He swapped Yorkshire for Bulgaria and CSKA Sofia, but only over 12 months later he became a free agent in 2025.

14

Ezgjan Alioski

39 appearances

Initially left-winger Ezgjan Alioski became an offensive fullback under Bielsa, scoring five championship goals in 2019/20.

He regularly featured in the Premier League in 2020/21, but that summer left Al Ali on the pro league side of Saudi Arabia. Arioski also returned to Swiss FC Lugano after playing for Fenerbafe and has signed a contract until 2027.

13

Philips of Calf

37 appearances

A key member at Bielsa’s mid-base was Calvin Phillips, who sealed off a £50 million move from Leeds to Manchester City in 2022 after the Argentina lead.

However, there were no plans for holding Etihad midfielder, as Phillips has loan spells in the towns of West Ham and Ipswich. In the summer of 2025 he was looking for another new club, but is still signing with City.

12

Stuart Dallas

Stuart Dallas, a versatile star under Bielsa, has transformed into a Leeds legend, but suffered serious injuries to Manchester City in 2022 at Elland Road.

He officially retired from football two years later after failing to recover, finishing with 267 Leeds appearances in all competitions. Dallas currently works as an EFL coverage expert for Sky Sports.

11

Clear Costa

43 appearances

Leeds moves for the 2019/20 season of lender Helder Costa went permanent in 2020, but before his release at Elland Road in 2023 there was a spell with Valencia and Altihad.

The winger then performed with Estoril in Portugal and Yn Yukun in China, but at the summer of 2025 and at the age of 31, Costa had no clubs.

10

Mateusz Klich

44 appearances

Box-to-Box midfielder Mateusz Klich became a cult hero on Elland Road and was allowed to join DC United in 2023 after appearing in Leeds.

Polish International joined Atlanta at the end of 2024, then returned to his home country with Krakovia in August 2025, and signed a contract until 2027.

9

Jack Harrison

46 appearances

Leeds still has winger Jack Harrison. He had two loan spells with Everton following Leeds’s relegation in 2023.

There’s something to do to get Leeds fans back to the flanks, and Harrison is still on a contract at Elland Road until 2028, and appears to be on Fark’s plan.
