  • Man United has taken a firm stand after his latest injury.
  • Reuben Amorim still has faith in Cobbie Mine

Manchester United have refused to sanction the loan exit for young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, according to Transfer Insider Fabrizio Romano.

Mainoo has been a benchwormer at United this season, with manager Reuben Amorim preferring other midfielders over him.

England International is upset with his role as an alternative player and wants to get more play time, whether it’s Old Trafford or away from the club.

Man United has taken a firm stand after his latest injury.

The decision was made lighter for Amorim’s team with midfield options, with injuries to both Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount.

The United hierarchy believes that keeping Maine at Old Trafford is essential to maintaining depth.

Romano points out that the club’s attitude was clear. Even if that means frustrating the young people’s wishes, they are not ready to further weaken the team.

But for Mainoo, the situation is difficult. At just 20 years old, the midfielder wants to play regular first-team football to accelerate his development.

He has made his ambition clear, he wants to learn in a consistent few minutes and be on the pitch, rather than staying on the bench.

His refusal to do Mainoo Go shows that he appreciates the fact that he is being held at the club.

In recent years, viewed as one of the brightest prospects to pass through the academy, Mainoo has been seen as a potential long-term starter in the middle.

By keeping him, Amorim hopes to use him while spinning his team this season.

Romano added that while several clubs from the UK and abroad have expressed interest in lending Mainoo, Man United has asserted that they will remain at Old Trafford this season.
