  • Man United wanted a cheaper option than Emiliano Martinez
  • Martinez will be disappointed

Manchester United were interested in signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez during the summer transfer.

According to reports from the mirror, they wanted to sign the player on the deadline, but had to abandon South American pursuits because of his wage demands. The players reportedly demanded wages of around £200,000 a week.

Man United wanted a cheaper option than Emiliano Martinez

Manchester United already spent practically, and they were willing to commit such money to players. South America is a quality player and he is proving himself for the club and country. He has been labelled in the past as a “surprising” goalkeeper by Harry Kane.

He was no doubt an exceptional acquisition of Manchester United. Especially the way Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir performed, you need a quality goalkeeper.

Manchester United have decided to move to Belgian goalkeeper Senne Ranmen. The 23-year-old is a talented young goalkeeper with a bright future and is expected to hold back the usual starting spot at Old Trafford at the moment. It will be interesting to see if he can instantly influence and establish himself as a key player for the club.

Manchester United need a quality goalkeeper if they are serious about their fight this season. They will also be returning to the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile, experienced goalkeepers will be disappointed to miss out on big moves this summer. He definitely deserves to play at the highest level. The move towards Manchester United would have been a great opportunity for him. He has won a massive trophy with his country and is about to win a trophy at the club level. It would have been ideal to join a big club.
