  • Will Marc Guehi replace Konate Ibrahima?
  • Liverpool sells conate?

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Conate has linked his move away from the club when the transfer window resumed in January.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, they were able to aim to sell the 26-year-old French international defender.

The 25-year-old is scheduled to join Liverpool during the summer transfer, and he also completed medical care in the Premier League champions. The two clubs had already agreed on a fee, but Crystal Palace pulled out the plug of the deal as they were unable to secure a replacement for the club captain.

Liverpool is expected to return for the defenders when the transfer window resumes in January. Brown believes Conate is error prone to being able to replace England International.

Will Marc Guehi replace Konate Ibrahima?

Brown told a soccer insider:

“So they wanted Mark Guech. He’s a very good option and he brings stability.

“It takes concerns from the backline they have at the moment, which is why they were trying to improve at centre-back.

“They don’t have the depth to get rid of Konate now because they missed Guehi.

“So they will be making an effort to sign a new contract.

“If he doesn’t do that, they will have a decision to decide, and it won’t surprise me to see him leave in January, rather than at the end of the year.

“Especially because if they come back for Guehi, he will soon be a replacement.”

Liverpool sells conate?

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. French International is the final year of his contract and he will become a free agent next summer. Liverpool may prefer to sell him in January rather than lose him for free at the end of the season. He links to clubs like Real Madrid and it will be interesting to see where he goes.
