Dere Ally was seen as a young man with great potential at Tottenham Hotspur, but despite his early success with the club, he struggled to maintain his top-level performance.
The British joined Lily White in the summer of 2015 on a £5 million deal from the MK Dons, taking the Premier League by storm in their first few seasons.
He scored 37 points in his first three years in North London, with another 26 assists. He has won the PFA Young Player of the Year Award for the second year in a row.
But it all crashes for the midfielder, then drops the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, and off-field problems raise the head and leads to his end mise.
Fast forward to 2025, manager Thomas Frank has another talented player in the same situation, which could lead to his ejection from the club in the near future.
The latest in Yves Bissouma’s Tottenham Future
Despite being regularly scheduled with Ange Postecoglou’s plans and having made 44 appearances in all competitions, midfielder Yves Bissouma is expected to be sold by Spurs in the coming weeks.
Marian International, which cost £35 million from Brighton in the summer of 2022, was unable to impress new boss Frank in the end, but primarily due to off-field issues, rather than off-field performance.
He was removed from a Super Cup clash with PSG on disciplinary reasons and has not even made a bench for Lily White since, and has not been part of any team.
It’s not the first time the 29-year-old has been involved in off-field attitudes and nitrous oxide inhalation has been discovered.
However, he is expected to be sold to Turkey in the coming days, and while Fenervafes is interested in his signature, another player should join through the exit door.
Spurs player who should draw x alongside Bissouma
This summer was mainly about Spurs’ incoming calls, but the decision was made to offload the players and create room for hooves to work together after Frank takes the reins.
Dane blew over £100 million to the signatures of Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus. Starting from 2025/26, we have added the required quality to the club’s front line.
Such moves have been added to the likes of Brennan Johnson and Richarrison, and the pair have already opened accounts for new campaigns under Frank.
However, despite his permanent participation this summer, attacker Mathys Tel was able to find himself in the vicinity after the latest developments in North London.
The French joined Lily White on a £30 million deal from Bayern Munich and rejoined the club after spending the second half of their previous campaign lending with the Spurs.
At just 20 years old, he has a bag of time to fulfill his potential, but it is unclear whether he will be able to achieve his goals under Frank after emergence from a new club this week.
Labeled “Incredible” by Talent Scout Jacek Kulig, Tel has been removed from the Lily Whites Champions League team for the 2025/26 campaign.

This situation is similar to that of Dele, and then alienated from the first team and you can see the player approaching the exit door.
But such a scenario could ultimately see the club lose Tel at a minimum price, as we did with Dele a few years ago.
The decision to rule out the youth may prove to be an unpopular fanbase, especially after the hierarchy branched out £30 million due to his signature months ago.
The players themselves are also undoubtedly upset by the latest developments, and the board will need to fund travelling from the club along with Bissouma, allowing developments to begin elsewhere.
