Lewis Hamilton was headed to the opening practice session at the Italian Grand Prix before Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc.

Hamilton ran the fastest lap in the final five minutes, putting the rocket in the top spot with a best time of 1m20.117 on a set of used soft tires. Purple time in the second and third sector guaranteed that Britton ended his first Italian Grand Prix session with Ferrari overalls at the top spot.

Leclerc was still running for about 15 minutes in the session, and was second after setting the best time. He made the Ferrari the fastest in the first sector and the fastest in all sectors at the home grand prix.

The only problem with Leclerc was that the steward was temporarily considering his investigation to overtake Sauber during the red flag period to clean up gravel from the circuit. However, the issue was quickly dismissed when it became clear that Leclair could not avoid passing through a slow moving green car, despite hitting the brakes as soon as the red flag flew.

Carlos Size was the slow refiner to complete the top three. He pitted Max Verstappen in the spot in just 0.042 seconds.

Verstappen is a close match for Ferrari drivers in the mid-sector dominated by Roggia Chicane and two Lesmo Corners, making it a circuit speed-sensitive section. Nevertheless, he pleaded for the rear axle sliding across all the tire compounds, hinting at work that had not yet been done in the second practice session.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli – This time, the big crash I crashed with Parabolica last year was going to practice with Mercedes, travelling through gravel with Ascari, which served as a way to settle the Red Flag, and completed the session for the fifth time.

Randorris rose to sixth in the Championship Challenger patch session. The Championship Challengers struggled early to set a representative time. The wide moments of stone at Lesmo Corners were instrumental in the british time, contributing to the red flag in the middle of the session to clean up the circuit.

Alex Albon came in a double-top seven finish for Williams.

George Russell finished eight sessions and stopped on the side of the road near the entrance to Askari Shikane, suddenly losing his strength. After getting on track, the Mercedes driver finished the time he was investigating because he was not taking the escape road correctly.

Fernando Alonso was in the ninth place for Aston Martin on the 10th, ahead of Isaac Hajar. The Dutch Grand Prix Podium Getter is early concern about floor damage after taking too many curbs in Ascari.

Gabriel Boltreto radioed on the radio later in the session of strange noise emanating from the turbocharger, but there was no further problem and led Sauber teammate Nico Halkenberg on the 11th and 12th ahead of Liam Lawson.

Tsunoda was 14th in the other Red Bull racing cars, and in fourth place he was over 0.6 seconds slower than Verstappen, but Lance was on a walk in 15th place.

Dan, the McLaren development driver intervening in Oscar Piastri, was 1.489 seconds in 16th place, 0.585 seconds slower than Norris.

Esteban Ocon was 17th in Haas ahead of Pierre Guthrie, who was furious to hold on twice by Williams Cars and Oliver Bareman.
