  • Man United may not be for key players and Man City
  • Matheus Cunha is a huge loss for Amorim

After an international break, Manchester United will face Manchester City in the Premier League.

Reuben Amorim’s side will travel to Etihad Stadium this week, in an early season encounter with City rivals.

Of the first nine players in the Premier League this season, four points were four, and Amorim’s team began the season in a poor way.

Even the only victory over Burnley, they needed a slow penalty from Bruno Fernandez to secure three points.

Looking forward to them in the coming weeks, a trip to Etihad will give us a better idea of how United can tackle tough challenges this season.

Man United may not be for key players and Man City

According to Manchester Evening News, Amorim is facing the prospect of not having four first team players in Pep Guardiola’s match against Man City.

Center back Lisandro Martinez is suspicious of a match against City. The versatile defender has been taking action for months and despite his resume training at Carrington, a trip to Etihad may be too early for him.

Recent set-offs include Diogo Darott, who retreated from the Portuguese national troops due to muscle problems and returned to Manchester for further evaluation.

As the right-back started regularly for the Red Devils this season, his absence will shadow upcoming high-stakes clashes, including the Manchester Derby, following the matchups between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Meanwhile, attack assets are also on the treatment table. United’s £62.5 million summer signing, Matthews Cunha, limped during a 3-2 victory over Burnley before slipping out of the Brazilian side.

Despite sharing messages of gratitude and optimism on social media, Cunha’s recovery remains uncertain.

Mason Mount also left Burnley Fixture early to issue more warnings about club depth and available options.

Amorim faces important tests in squad selection. With Dalot, Cunha and Mount experiencing fitness issues and Martinez still on the sidelines for the long term, he should carefully evaluate options ahead of a fierce match.

If Dalot is ruled out, alternatives like Amad Diallo could be considered on the right-wing back, but his offensive strength could be exposed defensively, especially against top teams like Man City.
