Lyon attacker Marick Faufana has linked his moves from French clubs over the past few months, with Chelsea and Liverpool keen on him during the summer transfers.

The players are attracting interest from two Premier League clubs. However, he made it clear that interest from the two clubs was not specific. It will be interesting to see if they will come forward with offers to sign a younger attacker in the future.

The Belgians were incredible talent with a bright future and were able to develop into world-class players with the right guidance. Chelsea and Liverpool needed more quality on the sides and they were able to develop him into a future star.

Tottenham is also enthusiastic about Fofana.

“I was interested in these two clubs, but in the end I wasn’t particularly specific enough.” Fofana told HBVL. “I thought about transfers, but I think it’s more important now that I play a lot, and that has to happen in Lyon, because there’s still progress.

“Of course (I want to go to the 2026 World Cup) I still realize there’s still a lot to prove. I’ve already made progress. I’m now more critical and involved in the game.

“I’m just a normal young man and I’m staying cool. I’m not focused on the media either. I’m doing what I want to do: dribbling and score.”

Lyon may demand a premium to sell players. Chelsea and Liverpool have finances to continue their contracts. They are one of the largest clubs in the world and the opportunity to join them is extremely exciting for Belgians. That would be a major step in his career.
