According to trustworthy transfer experts Fabrizio RomanoManchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has agreed to join Turkish side Trabzonspoll on loan.
The deal, which has been working since the weekend, is currently waiting for a formal rebuttal from the Turkish club, and Onana is expected to complete the move next week.
Loan agreement details
Romano reports that agreement between the clubs is easy. Onana will move to a seasonal loan loan without the purchase options included in the transaction.
Also, no loan fees are attached, making it a simple arrangement designed to help goalkeepers play away from Old Trafford, putting pressure on United’s team plans.
The move comes after weeks of speculation about Onana’s future, following a difficult spell in the UK.
The goalkeeper was dropped from the starting lineup this season by manager Reuben Amorim.
Altay Bayindir has played in all Premier League games this season, with Onana playing only in the Carabao Cup.
For Trabzonspor, this is a coup. The Turkish giants have secured the service of goalkeepers demonstrated by the highly acclaimed Champions League, despite recent struggles.

United’s decision to sanction the loan suggests confidence in current options between posts, making it available to Bayındır, Tom Heaton and the new signature Senne Lammens.
The move also buys United’s time to reevaluate its long-term strategy in the goalkeeping sector, without committing to a permanent sale of Onana, which is still a few years behind the contract at Old Trafford.
A strong season in Turkey will rekindle his reputation, opening the way back to Manchester in a better way ahead of the summer window of 2026, or attracting new suitors.
