Crystal Palace defender Mark Guech was the target of Real Madrid at the end of the season and was able to try and offer him a lucrative package to win the race for his signature.

According to Football Insider, they were able to offer him a large signature fee to win the competition for his services. Juventus and Liverpool are also enthusiastic about the players.

“I know how good the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus are at landing free agents,” Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider.

“They specialise in that and usually try to sign players with free transfers to provide huge sign-on fees.

“Obviously, it’s difficult to compete with something like Real Madrid (and so is the case with players who lack contracts).

“Liverpool currently has so much work at Guehi, they missed last minute in this window, but hopefully they can finally get the deal done.

“(It’s) either a free transfer in January, if the situation arises, or next summer.”

Red could not sign Guehee

Liverpool is expected to fail to move on the deadline to sign the player and return for him in the future. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool will try to sign players at nominal prices in January. They were able to wait until the summer transfer window to sign Guehi for free.

The player completed medical care in Liverpool on the deadline day, but Crystal Palace pulled the plug on the move after not signing the exchange. Liverpool clearly has a lot of work on transfers and they hope to win the race for his signature.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Liverpool needs more quality and depth in their defensive units. Ibrahima Connate becomes a free agent at the end of the season and they need to replace him. Crystal Palace Star could be the ideal alternative. He was a reliable performer in the Premier League and was able to make an immediate impact.

The opportunity to join one of the world’s biggest clubs is extremely exciting for him. Liverpool was able to provide him with a platform to fight for the big trophy. Similarly, Real Madrid is an elite club and makes it an attractive destination for Guehi. It would be interesting to see what he decides.
