Carlos Alcaraz hunts major games. The 22-year-old Spaniard is back in the US Open Finals after ousting 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets in New York on Friday. (6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-2) Now, Alcaraz is waiting for the winners of No. 1 Jannik Sinner and No. 24 Felix Auger Aliassime.

Alcaraz took advantage of the veteran who fell early in the final meeting at the Australian Open earlier this year. Alkaraz scored a lonely break in the first set of Djokovic’s opening service game, and from there kept his grip on for an early set lead.

However, trouble spotted him in two sets as Djokovic defeated Alkaraz early and took a 3-0 lead. However, Alkaraz went back and fought, recording his own break before the set entered the tiebreak. Things really got hotter when the two men managed six straight break runs, including some incredible rally, before Alcaraz gained control and scored set 7-6 (4).

Djokovic, 38, calls out to a trainer before the third set, and it’s always a common occurrence whenever Serbs seem to be fighting health issues all the time to help them stretch their neck muscles.

However, it was revealed that there was nothing left in the tank, giving him an early break in the third set with a double fault. Alkaraz then merged the break as Djokovic began to run around the courtroom and barely moved.

Alcaraz’s record at US Open this year is amazing as he hasn’t dropped the set yet. This is a year after he was left unsure in a straight set by Botic Van de Zandschulp in the second round.

If he ends up getting a sinner, it will be the final showdown of the third straight grand slam between the two. They performed the best classics of all time at the French Open, with Alcaraz coming together from two sets of downs and winning a five-set tiebreak. The sinner got revenge at Wimbledon with four sets of effort.
