Leeds started off on a good Premier League return, scoring four points in the opening three games. A 5-0 loss to Arsenal was a blow, but the victory over Everton and a draw against Newcastle rose to Elland Road’s confidence level after a positive summer transfer period.
Among those joining Leeds in the summer was defensive midfielder Anton Stuck, who arrived from Bundesliga’s TSG Hoffenheim. The 26-year-old has played every minute of the Premier League season up until now, but he was also used as an alternative in the second round of the Carabao Cup defeat against Sheffield on Wednesday.
Stouch’s move to the Premier League could increase his chances of returning to the German national team, especially if he can continue his form with his four appearances in the Leeds Shirt.
Germany’s Anton Schtuck’s chances call for the World Cup
According to Leeds, Sportbild is thinking about Stach’s potential as a German starter at the World Cup next summer in North America.
“It’s the last of two international matches so far in the summer of 2022. But in addition to a good start to the season with the newly promoted Premier League team, he has an exciting profile as a strong running midfielder and sweeper in front of defense.
The next few months will be important for Schuttuck to advance his own path to the ideas of German manager Julian Nagelsmann, but Leeds should be the perfect environment for him to show off his talent.
For now, it is still unclear whether Stach will be able to win a recall, but if he is selected as one of the next three teams Nagelsmann will choose, he will feel he has the best chance of being at the World Cup next summer.
