West Ham United midfielder Lucas Spaqueta appeared to confirm that this would be his final season at London Stadium.
Brazil International has had a successful mix between them and Hammer, and was impressed as a star player on the team before struggling with consistency at first.
Aston Villa was strongly linked to interest in him from the Daily Mail and others, and Paketa’s future became serious doubt this summer.
Eventually, the 28-year-old stayed, but he posted on social media about this being a plan to become his final season with West Ham.
Lucas Paqueta clarifies forwarding decisions with emotional Instagram posts
By visiting Instagram, Paqueta outlined his commitment to staying at West Ham, but it appears to be just one more season.
Of course, the player is technically signed with the East Londoners until 2027, so it is still unclear whether the club will agree to this.
Still, regarding his future, Paketa posted: “It’s about choosing people who welcomed you, people who never judged you, people who believed in you, people who loved you and made you feel at home,” said Paketa.
“It’s about staying faithful, not just when you have everything, but when there was nothing.
“It’s not time to say goodbye yet!
“Let’s go together again!”
Should West Ham sell Lucas Paketa?
WHUFC supporters will have a variety of views on what to do with Paketa.
On his day, the former Lyon man is an incredible talent who can influence the game at the highest level.
Still, he was not the most certainly consistent performer ever. It seems very clear that his mind isn’t entirely there for a long time.
From that point of view, West Ham still can, but may be suitable for him to get cash, but of course the right alternatives must be a priority too.
