When Johnny Miller first stepped into the grounds of Napa’s Silverado Resort and competed in the 1968 Kaiser International Open on the PGA Tour as Amateur, he could feel there was something special about the place.
“I liked the country, the course, the open field, the smell,” Miller said. “It felt like home.”
After turning professionals and marrying his wife, Linda, they went on their honeymoon at one of the Silverado resorts in the condo.
“One thing led to something else, and the following year I bought a condo on the 6th Fairway on the North Course and built a house in the lake in ’74 (No. 11),’ and five of the six children born in Napa, winning tournaments in 1974 and ’75.
